From Standby direct to Live TV

     W MC2005 c/w Rollup 2 and all updates

I put my media center into Standby direct from Live TV

When bringing it back from Standby I am hit with a RESUME button in the middle of the screen

Clicking this brings up the last channel I was watching on Live TV.

Question is there a way I can go direct from standby to live TV without having to hit the resume button

All contibutions will be gratefully accepted especially if it cures this extremely small niggle

    Thankyou in advance

Re: From Standby direct to Live TV

You're pressing 'pause' or 'stop' first, before putting the machine in ot standby, aren't you?  That's why you get the resume button on-screen.

Re: From Standby direct to Live TV

on putting pc into standby using the on/off switch on the keyboard/remote  the media center is going into resume on its own.
Is their a way around this to make the pc go into standby so that when bringing it back from stanby it goes direct to TV

Re: From Standby direct to Live TV

Hmmm.  Must experiment a bit with that (I don't often use Standby on my MCE desktop, except when it's 80+ degrees out), adn I don't bother at all on the server (it's in the basement.  Noise & heat aren't a problem there.)

Will get back to you in a bit, after I play around with that.  :?

Re: From Standby direct to Live TV

I'd like some input on this as well. I'd like MCE to act more like a TV, and less like a computer. It would be AWESOME if it could automatically resume the last thing it was doing before it was put to sleep.

Or, maybe this would cause problems when it wakes up by itself to do a scheduled recording?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Re: From Standby direct to Live TV

Have you guys tried the MCE Standby Tool. It closes ehome at suspend and lets you choose in which page to restart after standby.

A future version will possibly get an option not to close and restart but just jump to the selected page.

Re: From Standby direct to Live TV

What button are you pressing to bring your MCE out from standby? Wouldn't pressing the LiveTV button on the remote make it always go to LiveTV?

I use this and it's awesome.  I had all kinds of standby problems, and this in combination with Hibernator (http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/community/hibernator/4090-arksoft-releases-hibernator-take-control-your-machine.html) fixed them all.  But yeah, if you just want to resume to live TV give MCE Standby Tool a try.

Neither, booo to Vista. MCE2005 FTW! All SP3 issues are fixable, btw.
