Can anyone recommend a DVD ripper that work with MCE -- i.e stores in most efficient format for MCE?  I would like to rip some popular kids DVD's and keep them on the MCE box for easier/faster retrieval and playback.

I've put together a new library and a new set of applications for working with the closed captions in NTSC recordings.  This includes a DVR-MS IFilter which allows you to search using captions for DVR-MS files from Windows Desktop Search, an application that lets you navigate shows based on caption searches, etc:

Hi,

I became frustrated with the lack of file control and media organisation that Windows Media Center provides. Therefore I have developed a MCE hosted application that allows you to browse for files on the PC (or network) from the MCE interface. If the file is supported by MCE then it can open it in the media player, otherwise it can actually minimise MCE and open it in Windows.

The application also provides links to Minimise MCE and to Close it completely.

  

I currently use it as a Internet radio and video stream organiser and also a way of executing my PC games quickly.

Hi Everyone,

I've just released a new application called "The Hibernator".  It's purpose is to aid anyone that has trouble with their rig and hibernate/standby sleep modes.  It's primary function is to put machines to sleep that won't normally go to sleep via Windows Power Management.  It also helps on resume from standby as it makes it possible for you to run any application or batch script upon resume.  So you can for instance refresh the MCE services (no more reboots!) or use devcon to reset problematic device drivers on resume.

If you find Window Power Management flakey and unreliabe this could be just what you need!

I'm aware of add-ins that use information from the IMDB to download information and art. Are there any add-ins that allow you to run a search on the IMDB from within the media center interface? Just to type in an actor or movie and see what movies they have been in or what actors are in a particular movie???

Quick note to let everyone know that the Hibernator (mentioned 2 posts up) has just gone to v2.0.

This version support network, disk and cpu monitoring enabling easy setting of the machines idle state.
