    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    While converting single fle, you were not using the automatic feature at the same time? and very important, you downloaded the filters.zip, and registered the containing .ax files propperly?

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    I'm not using the automatic feature at the same time.  I did download the filters.zip and opened both .ax files with regsvr32.exe and got "succeeded" messages on each one.

    Does this have to be run on the MCE O/S.  I'm running XP pro right now but I have one of the dvr-ms files copied locally and can view it in the Media Player with no problems.

    Is there any other software that should be loaded on the system for this to work?

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    all movies are 1h 13 min long after the convert.

    i try it with TMPEG Xpress, with Cyberlink Power Director and with your Program, but ever the MPEG File is not complete.

    Why ?

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    No other software is requiered. However, I know MCE has a specific DirectShow filter installed which handles DVR input streams. The filter's name is "Derypt/Tag", and its file is "encdec.dll" located in the Windows\System32 directory. When you start graphedit, and "Render Media File..." on your XP Pro machine, what filter comes directly after the source file?

    This is important, since the <nternal graph filter> from AutoDVRconvert, uses this specific filter in its graph. If you find this second filter to be different on your XP system, it is still possible to make it work, only you have to create a filter set, which works on your system, with graphedit, and save it as XML file (XGR extention by graphedit) and put it in the directory where you stored the EXE file of AutoDVRconvert. After this, you should be able to select this XGR file in the drop-down-list "Filter Graph to use".

    When making your own graph, make sure that you use the dump filter at the end instead of the video and audio render devices.

    A quick walkthough:

    Start grapedit. Select "render media file...", select your original DVR file which to convert. Now, when you press the play button, you should get the TV show playing back, including audio. If thits doesn't work in the first place... bad luck. If it does, stop the graph (stop button). Then remove everything from your graph, except the DVR source filter, and the 2 filters directy connected to this one. throw away everything after that (including the DVD decoders). Now, add the following 2 filters: "Dump" and "CyberLink MPEG Muxer". Both can be found via: Graph->Insert Filter->DirectShow Filter. When inserted, connect all the pins together (drag & drop).

    @Bluescreenz:

    I'm sorry, but I realy don't have a clue why conversion would stop after this length of time. Troubles are not with AutoDVRconvert, because the other software systems have the same issue. Do you have enough available disk space?

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    May it be because of dump.ax and mpegmux.ax Files ?

    What do i have to do with graphedit and the Filter.xml, because i tried to generate the filter.xml, but it doesn't work.

    Thanks

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    I'm a little confused by you instructions. I was able to play the video with audio in graphedit, so we're ok there.  Here is the output from the Render Media File.

    You say remove everything but the DVR source filter and the 2 filters connected to it.  I'm assuming that the box with the 3 DVR outs is the DVR source.  There are not 2, but three filters connected to it.  What should I delete from this screen? And then when I add the Dump and Cyberlink...., what do I connect them to?

    Sorry to be a pain, I'm a .Net programmer but this video stuff is outside my ballpark.

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    I tried the new release today.Still, I get video only on the converted file. Like Fluqelboy, I can play the dvr-ms file in GraphEdit and get both audio and video.

    I guess I'll try to build a new graph per your instructions. Thanks again for any help you can give on this Heimiko.

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    hi Heimiko, I've just tried your utility, with the latest changes, everything almost ok...
    The conversion it's done very quickly, the whole file is there, no probs with sync or other things, but the created MPG file cannot be played within WMCE, giving a "Unable to play file" message (I can't translate it properly because my MCE is in Italian) due to some codec error, but the file is played flawlessy through WMP 10, though if I choose to play it with WMP 10 it doesn't start immediately, the messages displayed in the lower part of WMP 10 report an error trying to aquire the proper codec ... anyway the file after that, is played fine.
    If I use Power Director 4 for converting the file, there are no probs at all playing the created file within WMCE.

    any ideas ?

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    @flugelboy:

    Perfect. The filter on which 3 others are connected, is indeed the DVR source. You see the middle one is not connected? remove this one, but leave the lower and the top one. And also, remove everything else, in such a way that it leaves you with just 3 filters on your screen. The DVR source and both the Decrypt/Tag filters. From that point on, add the filters to the graph according to my previous instructions.

    Now, you can connect the MpgMux filter, which has 2 input pins, to both the Decrypt/Tag filters. After that, connect the MpgMux to the Dump filter. After connecting, press play, and your file should convert. If it does, save the graph to XML, and put this file in the same directory as where you have AutoDVRconvert and you should be able to select it.

    @charger2000:

    I don't realy have any idea, I will play around, see if i can reproduce the problem, adjust some settings and see if I can come to a solution. Thanks for the tip.

    @Nailbender:

    I don't know why this happens to you and fluqelboy. Do you mind sending me a small sample of your DVR file? PM me so we can get agreed how to transfer this file. (either you or fluqelboy).

    RE: NEW: Automated DVR-MS to MPG conversion utility!

    As of now, there will be only 1 download source for AutoDVRconvert, here:

    http://heimiko.com/AutoIndex/index.php?dir=AutoDVRconvert/

    (also removed links in first post and added this one)
