Progress achieved

I fixed the corrupt video problem. What I did was changed the encapsulation method to PS instead of TS and the HD video quality stays solid.

Video that is recorded to the PC must be played from a prerecorded (or recording in progress) video at your STB. Both the STB playback and the PC recording must start simultaneously manually.

I started the process of scripting code to automate this and to have it working with Tim Moore's app.

Anyone out there familiar with SA STB firewire command codes? I tried the ones documented with the Tim Moore app for general STB use and its not working with my SA box. I want to send commands like "record" current program to the STB.

Finally, I see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's been a bumpy road, but our dogged obsessiveness at this is what's gotten us to this point so far.

Nice to know you can stream an SA8300 DVR recording over firewire. Getting WMC to do it sounds like a pain, but I can always plug the box into my laptop and grab shows I want to keep.

How are you going to get guide data doing this?

guide data? Media center still records everything that isn't clear QAM in SD via s-video. The SA DVR has it's own guide. FireWire is just for burning the occasional show to DVD or something. I can name the capture file by hand.

has anyone gotten firestb to work with FIOS HD Receiver QIP7100?

Can anyone direct me to the most recent STB driver.

I have the QIP7100 and heard that there is a driver file which works with it.

I used the file from
