RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

    DOH!  I spoke too soon....

Having updated everything to the latest versions and double checked all the settings, I'm still getting failures when processing multiple files.

Is anyone else experiencing difficulties processing multiple files?   I've found that both the DVR2WMVand the DVRMStoMPEGGUI tools can process multiple files without issue.

I'm attaching a snippet of the batch which highlights the error.

RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

Here is a screenshot of my filter setup and the xml version.

I've configured the ASF Writer to output wma for dial up modem (CD quality) to keep it small on my Pocket PC.

Hope this makes it possible to develop a plug-in for dvr-ms to wma conversion.

    Thanks

RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

interesting about the dvr-ms file not playing on your box.  I don't have a regular XP box around the house that I could try it on...all 3 of mine are MCE.  When I get home tonight, I can take a look at what filters it's using and send you the corresponding .dll's if you like.

Regarding the new version, I'll give it a shot within the next day or so...just a little crazy here lately!

you might be able to use the new action that dumps the individal streams to get commercial cutting... with the ATSC files it was the AC3 sound that was causing problems, could be the same thing with the FW recordings.

RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

OK, I'll try it.  It'll be interesting if it works because the error was indicating that it could not access the decrypt1 pin, which makes sense because that filter is not present in the firewire recordings.

    It's definitely worth a shot!

I have just downloaded 1.8.0.2 but still have the choppy sound on mpeg conversions which you thought was the muxer - is this changed in this version yet?

Is the muxer Cyberlink similar as I have exactly the same problem with Cyberlinks PowerDirector4 which is why I sent it back.

Don't mean to push its just such a cracking tool otherwise.

RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

    Salvation has arrived!

Bab I want to thank you for this marvellous utility..

I used the GUI to convert DVR-MS files and it worked real well!

The straight conversion to MPEG files is fairly quick; the commercial

removal and conversion worked well also. Obviously it took more time

for the double task but it is worth the extra time to cut the annyoing

commercials and free more space for DVD recording!

I'm curious to know how it removes those pesky commercials without me

selecting using such software as Dcut?

I highly recoomend it to anyone wanting to burn DVD's for viweing on home

    DVD units.

    Thank you again,

    JMJ

No bites on my other thread - so thought maybe a link from here might result in something positive....

Us aussies are looking for help in trying to get wma conversions working for our dvb-t files... dcut / dvr2wmv / dvrmstoolbox all hang on these files (must be something strange in the header / metatags for us - as I believe other dvb-t pal files, ie. UK work - and the standards between them and us are so similar !!)

    So, just looking for help....

    babqVant,

Any chance you can update the program to change "&" to "and" in file names, an ampersand in the file name will prevent it from being processed.

    Thanks,

    Randy

    BabQvant,

No go on the firewire file.  When I try to convert to mpg, I get the following:

When I try to convert to wma, I get the following:

Processing actions, this may take some time!!
Convert DVR-MS to WMA using configured profile
    Begin conversion of D:\Recorded TV\Fire Science of Star Wars_DHD_28_05_2005_14_00_01.dvr-ms to D:\Recorded TV\Testing.wma

When I try to convert to wmv, I get the following:

Any ideas?  Any luck opening that dvr-ms file I sent you?   Would you like to try another one?

    Thanks!

RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

There's a rename input file action already in the package preconfigured to do exactly that... just add it to the profile that you want as the first action.

RE: DVRMSToolbox (GraphRenderer): Automated commercial removal, convert to mpg/wmv

I've seen that error when the profile (prx) selected isn't appropriate and/or compatibility mode isn't configured properly. Can you check the settings of the action that converts to wmv?

if dvr2wmvstandalone works, this will work to (I used their dll to do the conversion); it's has to be a configuration issue.
