What is the best 50"-60" TV for around $3000

My father is looking to purchase a flat panel tv. He is looking at going with a 50" to 60" tv and has $3000 to spend on it. What are your suggestions on what he should get. Please note he is not a videophile but does want something that will last a while and look good.

    Thanks

    Charles

if he's not a videophile, take him to walmart to check out the Vizios

they're actually very decent, and a LOT easier on the pocket

Toshiba Regza 52" 1080p 120hz for $3,000. This TV is Awesome. Black Levels are great, color accuracy is near perfect. You can't beat these tv's. Regza series is very nice for custom installers.

For $3K, you can get a Pioneer Kuro PDP-5020FD.  Another option might be the Panny TH-58PZ700U if you shop around.

Chances are what I would do though, would be to get the Panny TH-50PZ800U for $2K at a place like Amazon, and put the extra $1K into a 5.1 system if you don't have one.  I'm not sure the difference between the Panny 50" and the Pioneer 50" is worth the increase in price.
