I have a friend who is having trouble with her HP 864 MCE. When the MC window is minimized to the taskbar or minimized to a smaller viewing window while watching Live TV, the broadcast is paused. But when you try to resume (by clicking on the live TV box, or the resume button), nothing happens. In order to watch live TV again, the MC app has to be shut down and restarted. I have gone through a bunch of troubleshooting, but can't figure out the root cause.

System: HP 864 MCE
Factory Restore including all windows updates (including SP3)

I have searched the boards here and couldn't find anything similar to what is happening.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

My 1st thought is the video drivers.  Upgrade them to a newer version.

Which version of MCE is this computer running?

All the video drivers are updated. Maybe rolling back might help?

The MCE version is Rollup-2 + all updates as of 10/23/2008.

Wow...that's a blast from the past.  I am surprised that is still being supported at all...maybe not. 

I have upgraded to a nvidia 6200 and am running 169.21.  I had bad problems with 175.16.  I think I previously used 77.79.  I have a copy of 77.79 if you want me to email it to you.  Just email me directly.
